Checking halal and kosher restaurant claims
Verification needs to apply to the restaurant, product and preparation—not just the chain name.

Ask for the scope of the certification
Check the certifying body, certificate validity, address and which products or activities it covers. A certified ingredient does not by itself establish that every menu item or the entire restaurant is certified.
Confirm the exact branch
Franchise locations and regional suppliers can differ. Use an official restaurant statement and the certifier’s own directory where available. A social post or third-party label can be a lead to investigate, rather than conclusive evidence.
Keep your requirements specific
Ask about ingredients, handling, equipment and any relevant preparation conditions. Different customers follow different standards; CompareMenus does not infer religious suitability from cuisine, ownership, names or location.
