Animal proteins have different standards
Panera’s current statement generally requires responsible antibiotic practices, with veterinary treatment where necessary. It gives a more specific raised-without-antibiotics requirement for chicken used in US salads, bowls and sandwiches. That wording should not be expanded into a claim about every animal ingredient in every product.
Eggs, pork, beef and milk
The statement requires primary eggs to be cage-free and certified; group housing for sows after confirmed pregnancy; and beef pastured on grass and typically finished on grain. Milk suppliers must be in good standing with the FARM animal-care programme. These are supplier standards, not an ingredient-level audit by CompareMenus.
Read the recipe as well as the policy
Sourcing standards, dietary preferences and allergens answer different questions. Open the exact menu serving to inspect its nested ingredient statement. A chain-level marketing label does not resolve what is in a particular sauce, bread or customized order.

Panera says it reviews its standards periodically. Older clean-food or sourcing claims on third-party menu sites may describe an earlier policy. We retain the source review date and the foods covered by each current statement.
